Help boost American Indian voter registration and turnout
One million American Indians are not registered to vote. Indians have the lowest participation rate at the polls of any ethnic group.
The pan-tribal National Congress of American Indians seeks to change that this year and make the Indian turnout at the polls the largest ever. But that means they must first be registered.
The registration effort would be greatly enhanced if Indians could register to vote at Indian Health Service sites on reservations and in urban areas with large concentrations of Indians.
Please sign our petition urging Secretary of Health and Human Services to make IHS centers available for voter registration.
Dear HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius
Please help hundreds of thousands of American Indians register to vote by requiring Indian Health Center facilities to make voter registration available on site for their patients.
