Tell the House and the Senate to raise the minimum wage to $10.10

In 1968, the minimum wage was worth over $10.00 in 2012 dollars. Today, it’s $7.25. It hasn’t gone up since 2009, and working full-time at minimum wage isn’t enough to put a family of two above the poverty line. It’s time for that to change.

Sen. Tom Harkin and Rep. George Miller are calling on Congress to increase the minimum wage to $10.10, close to what it was worth in 1968, and tie it to inflation so that minimum-wage workers don’t have to wait years for a raise while the prices of food and rent keep rising.
