Tell the Senate to put a lower cap on student loan interest rates
There is a so-called "deal" on student loans between the White House and Congress, and it's a sham. Under the terms of the deal, federal student loans stand to go even higher than their current 6.8% rate.
This is unconscionable, and it's why Sen. Elizabeth Warren said this plan is “more than wrong, it’s obscene.”
Thankfully Sen. Jack Reed has a plan that could make things right. He has introduced an amendment that will permanently cap interest rates at 6.8%
