Tell the feds to enforce the law on C.E.O. pay
President Obama says that high executive salaries contributed to a “reckless culture” that nearly destroyed our economy.
That’s why the Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform law, which Congress passed in 2010, requires publicly traded corporations to disclose how much their CEOs make compared to their average worker.
Three years later, the Securities and Exchange Commission has yet to even pass regulations enforcing this rule—and meanwhile, corporations have not complied.
